Most duck and goose hunters insist on setting out each weighted decoy one at a time! Why is this?
Is it because they feel rigged decoys are not as effective as single
weighted Decoys, or rigged decoys take to much time to put out, or with
that much Line out they are going to get tangled, and they are only for
big deep water only.
I have
noticed over the years that hunters will start picking up early or will
not move their decoys if they are hunting in an area that has soft
muddy bottoms, wading back out is the last thing anyone wants to do,
after all, it is hard work picking up a dozen or more single weighted
decoys, while wading through mud, water and elements, even if it means
the difference between having a moderate shoot or a great shoot. Using
Schumacher's Decoy Rig gives you the realistic decoy spread you are
looking for. Unlike single weighted decoys, the entire Decoy Rig will
move with the current, or with the wind, the same as live ducks and
geese.
Retrieving your decoys
at the end of the hunt, or being able to re-position them by simply
moving the main rigging line would be a dream come true. With
Schumacher's Decoy Rig this is all possible, no matter what Mother
Nature throws your way.
What is
Schumacher's Decoy Rig? The Decoy rig is made with a main line that is
approximately 60' in Length and made from 5/32" Braided firm nylon
cord. To each end of this line are attached 2-3/4" Black Swivels for
weight attachment. Our Duck Decoy rig comes with 12 feeder lines that
are 12" long and made with a 9/64" Braided firm nylon cord, spaced at
50"+- Our Goose Decoy rig comes with 8 feeder lines also 12" long these
are also made with our 9/64" line and are spaced at 72"+-. Our Braided
Nylon Line has unbelievable tensile strength and is guaranteed not to
Float, Absorb Water Crack or Freeze Under normal Winter Hunting
conditions. All line connections and loops are hand crimped with soft
aluminum to prevent nicks, cuts and rust at these critical joint areas.
I know once you learn how to use a single Decoy Rig or multiple Decoy
Rigs you won't go back to the single weight method. THIS SYSTEM WORKS.
